"The Berlin Years Vol. 1" is an evocative collection of songs and sketches written and self-produced over a 5 year period while Teicher lived in the German capital. The music centres around his singer-songwriter roots while exploring electronic textures across chill-wave, 80s pop and the Berlin club scene.

Many eras ago I lived in Berlin, mostly making music.

I recorded a lot of demos and also made an EP with a friend.

Almost none of it got released.

I didn’t think the songs were good enough. I didn’t feel good enough within myself.

Recently I felt like something was missing.

I realised that I wanted to integrate these songs and this time into my story.

Like writing, Josh was here. I exist.

So—fuck it, I’m not going to even mix, or remix, or re-record them.

These songs are a patchwork, they’re not quite demos, and they’re not quite finished either.

Some of them are recorded on my built-in mic on my 2013 MacBook

And that’s jus the way it is.

This is the Berlin Years.
